Travel time follows a stopped clock

I'm back from Halifax!

I had a fantastic, not-long-enough visit with my bestie and have decided that I can totally swing long weekends in Bedford in the not-too-distant future. (Really, it's not much different time-wise than driving to Winnipeg or Edmonton, and less expensive when I get there.) Realistically, it'll probably be February or March before I get there again, but it's not going to be three and a half years!!

Now, it's getting chilly but not snowy (thank all that is sacred) and I'm crazybusy at work. Naturally, this means I'm flinging myself into the holiday crafting. I'm working on the theory that it helps with the work stress to have a concrete project with tangible progress. Also, if i start now, I might actually get more than one project done before the holidays!

freezer-paper stencilled t-shirts/onesies/etc. I've done this before with excellent results, and I really really like the one in the example. I've decided that my brother is getting one with this logo.
Knitting! Duck feet, cowl, mittens, etc.

Uh...yeah. that's pretty much all I've got on the go right now. There will of course be the usual last minute crazy. I neeeeeeed to get on my advent calendar, too. I have a plan! It's a good plan! I have the stuff for it! It's in my sewing box that I took home last Christmas and haven't touched since!

Ahem.

I have I mentioned that I take an embarrassing number of pictures? Because I probably should. I don't post enough, but that is about to change!

And the answer?

I deleted the former blog and re-started (after importing!) with correct spelling. It made me crazy.

Went to Alberta last weekend. I have pictures! And a new camera :)

Ahem. I just realised that the URL here is mis-spelled. This is what happens when you drink and blog. Now, do i re-start the blog or do i embrace the mistake? Toughie?

Oh poor abandoned bloggy.

I've broken down and gotten a new lappy, which I really expect to help with the posting. Honest. It helps having a screen that I can, you know, read.

I planted herbs! It snowed last weekend, so they're still living inside facing the patio doors. It's warmer today, but still freezing at night. Tomatoes to follow

Also! I got fabric to make a floor pouf. I have a plan, but I need stuffing...

For the first time since i moved to SK, i went for an after-work drink with a colleague*. It was a little odd; after about two hours I was twitchy and ready to go home, but he was perfectly prepared to stay and have several more drinks and talk about work. I was a little surprised to find out that he grew up not far from here and only has one or two friends in town.
